Woodbrook Artwork Needed for Directory

This year, as in years past, the Woodbrook PTO will create a Woodbrook Directory that parents have access to on the Woodbrook PTO website (password protected).

We are looking for student drawn artwork to include on class pages as well as throughout the directory. All appropriate artwork will be included.

Guidelines: Artwork should be no larger than 1/4 sheet of paper - think large post-it note, index card, etc. and it needs to be Woodbrook themed (Leo the lion themed, school themed, etc.). Black marker or dark pencil/ink is preferred (the directory isn't in color and if the artwork is too light it can be hard to scan). Student's name and class should be on the back of the submission - students' names will be included with their artwork in the directory.

Please have all artwork submitted to teachers by Wednesday, Sept. 6.

The directory is expected to be completed and available online by mid-September (stay-tuned for an email next week requesting email information, etc.). By the end of September, a complimentary printed form of the directory will be provided to those families that donated at the $50 or above level to the Friends of the Lion Campaign. Any questions on the directory can be directed to Mary Munson (marymunson@yahoo.com).

Interested in Joining Girl Scouts?

There will be a Girl Scouts meeting Aug. 31 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. If you have questions, please contact Lindsey Lopez danz9091@yahoo.com.

Build an Adventure with Pack 198

Message from Cub Scout Leader Lee Dorman

We invite Kindergarten through 5th grade boys to find out more about Cub Scouts and Pack 198 at our open house sign up Thursday, August 31st from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Woodbrook Elementary School. Whether you have a few minutes or more to spend with us, find out more about our pack and scouting. The Cub Scout program offers a variety of activities from traditional Scouting to STEM-based activities. Throughout the year Scouts will participate in Rocket Party, summer camp, Pinewood Derby and other special activities.

Besides providing a positive place where boys can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character and leadership skills, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills and developing a sense of citizenship and community spirit.

You are also invited to attend our first pack meeting of the year on Tuesday, Sept 5th at 6:30 pm at St. Elizabeth Seton Church (located at 10655 Haverstick Rd). For more information, please contact Lee Dorman: lrdorman@gmail.com or 317-258-6855. We look forward to building an adventure with you!
