This book does not simply tell you what is needed to be a good leader. It does give examples of past leaders and what contributed to their success or demise.
Before reading part 1, I recommend the reader develop their own idea/examples of what a leader/authoritarian is.
Heifetz believes that authority structures are necessary for success in any type of organization. He also believes that it is not required to have a "leader" in each of these settings.
