Good Life Performance By matt hausman

I THOUGHT THE CONSTANS THEATRE WAS A GREAT VENUE FOR THE SHOW. THE STAGE WAS BIG AND WIDE ALLOWING EVERY AUDIENCE MEMBER A GOOD VIEW OF THE ACTION. WHEN I FIRST ENTERED THE THEATRE, I WAS IMMEDIATELY GIVEN THE IMPRESSION THAT THIS WAS A SERIOUS VENUE AND I WAS LUCKY TO BE SO CLOSE TO SUCH A NICE THEATRE. MY SEAT LOCATION ALSO HAD A BIG IMPACT ON THE PLAY FOR ME. I WAS SEATED IN THE SECOND ROW FROM THE STAGE. AS A RESULT, THE PLAY FELT SO REAL TO ME BECAUSE I WAS SO CLOSE. WHEN THE PLAY WAS ABOUT TO START, I BECAME VERY EXCITED BECAUSE OF THE ANTICIPATION. THE ABSOLUTE SILENCE RIGHT BEFORE THE PLAY STARTED WAS UNPARALLELED. I THOUGHT THE SIZE OF THE CONSTANS THEATRE WAS PERFECT. ITS LARGE ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU THE FEELING THAT YOU ARE IN A REALLY IMPORTANT THEATRE, BUT ALSO SMALL ENOUGH AT THE SAME TIME TO GIVE YOU A MORE INTENSE EXPERIENCE. PLACE CAN BE VERY IMPORTANT IN THE GOOD LIFE. FOR MANY, WHERE THEY ARE IN LIFE IS VERY IMPORTANT IN ACHIEVING THE "GOOD LIFE." PLACE, WHETHER IT BE WHERE YOU ARE LIVING OR WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT IN THIS MOMENT, HAS A BIG IMPACT ON WHETHER OR NOT YOU ARE ACHIEVING THE "GOOD LIFE." FOR EXAMPLE, I AM IN THE LIBRARY RIGHT NOW SO ONE DAY I WON'T HAVE TO BE AND I CAN FINALLY HAVE THE GOOD LIFE.

I WENT TO THE PERFORMANCE WITH ONE OF MY FRIENDS. WE HAD A SHORT WALK OF ABOUT TEN MINUTES FROM MY DORM TO THE THEATRE. ON THE WAY OVER, WE TALKED ABOUT WHAT WE THOUGHT THE PLAY WAS GOING TO BE LIKE. I REALLY HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS IN FOR, AND I WAS HAPPY ABOUT THAT. I DIDN'T DO MUCH TO GET READT FOR THE PERFORMANCE. I PUT ON NICE CLOTHES AND WAS SURE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM BEFORE I LEFT (LOL). ATTENDING WITH FRIENDS ENHANCED MY EXPERIENCE BECAUSE AFTER THE PLAY AND DURING THE INTERMISSION, WE WERE ABLE TO REFLECT ON THE PLAY. WE SHARED OUR THOUGHTS AND PREDICTIONS AND IT ADDED A WHOLE NEW ELEMENT TO VIEWING THE PLAY. IN MY OPINION, SHARED EXPERIENCES IS A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF THE GOOD LIFE. I THINK EXPERIENCES IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE. EXPERIENCES ARE HOW ONE GROWS AND ENJOYS LIFE. SHARING THESE EXPERIENCES WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY IS THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY THINGS IN LIFE.

This play had a profound effect on me with the way I look at our society and culture. The play helped me grasp the meaning of what it feels like to live in a society that questions your every move. I can relate to the way the characters struggle with their social and religious standings because of the way society is. My struggles and thoughts are different from the people of Quebec in the play because I don't have a battle between the Catholic Church and the Divine, but I am able to connect to the play in different ways. I was able to see the ways that other people reacted in similar and different ways when i stayed to talk to the audience and performers during the talk back.

Dr. Pagan gives a very interesting view on theatre and its effects on its audience. I find her views very accurate for this play. The topic of religion throughout this play can cause the audience members to be uncomfortable. Other topics in the play such as social status, women's rights and the importance of art can also make people uncomfortable. After the play when I was discussing my opinions on my play, I essentially "came clean." This play is a great example of Dr. Pagan's views.
