Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, best known by his pseudonym, Lewis Carroll, was born in the village of Daresbury, England, on January 27, 1832.As a boy, Carroll excelled in mathematics and won many academic prizes <iframe width="480" height="320" src="http://servicesaetn-a.akamaihd.net/pservice/embed-player/?siteId=bio&tPid=19665987921" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Carroll loved to entertain children, and it was Alice, the daughter of Henry George Liddell, who can be credited with his inspiration. Alice Liddell remembers she has spent many hours with Carroll, sitting on his chair while he told fantastic tales about dream worlds.
During an afternoon picnic carroll had with alice and her two sisters, he told about his first project that would later become alice's adventures in wonderland. When Alice got home, she asserted that he must write the story for her. the book alice's adventures in wonderland was released in 1865 and it was soon a great success becoming the most popular children's book in england and in the world. thanks to its popularity, carroll wrote also a sequel to it "through the looking glass and what alice found there".
carroll not omly was a popular writer, but he was also good at photographs. he created a number fine of photographs. He also photographed children in every possible costume and situation, eventually making nude studies of them. as a consequence there is a little real evidence of child abuse can be brought against him. just before his 66th birthday, Lewis Carroll caught a severe case of influenza, which led to pneumonia. He died on January 14, 1898, leaving a question behind him.
