Pre-Postseason #NCAAMGym Power Rankings

With the large variation in scores across regions, these rankings aim to provide a fluid assessment of rank based on performance and current momentum. The + or - next to a team's name represents how much they moved up (+) or down (-) since last week's power rankings.

1. Oklahoma Sooners (-)

Oklahoma did not compete this week and didn't move in the rankings.

Next competition: MPSF Championships on April 8th

2. Stanford Cardinal (-)

Stanford did not compete this weekend and didn't move in the rankings.

Next competition: Home vs. California on April 1st

3. Ohio State Buckeyes (-)

They certainly weren't perfect against Illinois, but Ohio State looks as ready as they'll ever be for postseason. Alec Yoder seems to be peaking at the right time which is a great sign. The back end of lineups aren't an issue for the Buckeyes -- production from the front end will ultimately decide their postseason fate.

Next competition: Big Ten Championships on April 7th

4. Illinois Fighting Illini (-)

The ceiling for this Illinois team is high but sadly it's being capped by injuries. The makeup of this team is much different than last year in the fact that they can no longer rely on being better than other teams on PH. On the flip side, the emergence of Sebastian Quiana has the Illini stronger on FX than they have been in previous years.

Next competition: Big Ten Championships on April 7th

5. Minnesota Golden Gophers (-)

Say what you want about judging, Minnesota looked fantastic last Saturday. Calling them a dark horse to win B1G's would be doing this team a disservice. The last time the Minnesota Golden Gophers won B1G's (1995) none of the current team members had even been born yet. Where were the championships held in 1995? Champaign, IL.

Next competition: Big Ten Championships on April 7th

6. Penn State Nittany Lions (-)

If you got caught up in the scoring bonanza that was MINN/NEB last weekend you may have missed that PSU threw up a 420 at home. Dealing with some injuries of their own, PSU might not have the big starts but what they do have is consistency and a really, really talented PH team. If they hit that event at B1G's, they'll be in the hunt.

Next competition: Big Ten Championships on April 7th

7. Nebraska Cornhuskers (+1)

Score a 425.55 and only move up one spot?! That's how competitive the NCAA is this year. Still, the fact that they came close to edging out a fiery Minnesota team proves Nebraska is for real. The Stephenson brothers and co. are very likely to lead the Huskers to their first ever top-five finish at B1G's (NEB joined the conference in 2012).

Next competition: Big Ten Championships on April 7th

8. Iowa Hawkeyes (-1)

I'm still so impressed by how the Hawkeyes have competed during the second-half of this season. It may have taken some time but I think J.D. Reive has found his optimal lineup on all six events. The Hawkeyes are clean enough to put up a fight for their first top-three finish at B1G's since 2006.

Next competition: Big Ten Championships on April 7th

9. Michigan Wolverines (-)

Similar to Iowa, Michigan has shown great improvement as of late. Last weekend's 414.95 was a good sign that the young Wolverines are moving in a positive direction. It's up to Emyre Cole & Anthony McCallum as to where this team winds up in postseason competition.

Next competition: Big Ten Championships on April 7th

10. Air Force Falcons (-)

Fresh off their eighth USAG team title in a row, Air Force now turns their attention to MPSF Championships. Tim Wang won the AA and PH titles as he continued his successful senior campaign. To beat the higher-tiered teams, the Falcons need more from their PH swingers not named Wang.

Next competition: MPSF Championships on April 8th

11. California Golden Bears (-)

Cal did not compete this week and didn't move in the rankings.

Next competition: @Stanford on April 1st

12. William & Mary Tribe (+1)

The Tribe hung with Air Force on FX, SR, VT and PB. PH and HB were a different story. W&M has the talent to bounce back on PH and they will need to do exactly that to give themselves a chance at winning ECAC's.

Next competition: ECAC Championships on April 8th

13. Navy Midshipmen (-1)

It's no surprise, but Navy can't survive without their big dogs, Jonny Tang and Tanner West. Things could've turned out a lot better last weekend with them in the lineup. Freshman Lucas Beltran (USAG VT Champion) has been a bright spot for the Mids as he ranks 19th nationally on VT.

Next competition: ECAC Championships on April 8th

14. Arizona State Sun Devils (+1)

A mighty successful season for the Sun Devils concluded with a USAG club team title. Barclay should have an even more talented team in 2018 as former Jr. National Team member Kiwan Watts is set to join Arizona State.

15. Army Black Knights (-1)

Army did not compete this week and moved down one spot in the rankings.

Next competition: ECAC Championships on April 8th

16. Washington Huskies (+1)

Washington fell just short (2.4) of Arizona State at last weekend's USAG Nationals. It was a great year for the Huskies who featured one of the top AA'ers in the country in Nathan Tsuji.

17. Springfield Pride (-1)

It certainly wasn't the weekend Springfield hoped for as they posted two team scores below 60. There's still tons of optimism moving forward for a team with just one graduating senior (Nick Jama).

Next competition: NCAA Championships on April 21st

18. UIC Flames (-)

The last three weekends have been tough for UIC. Freshmen are gaining experience but unfortunately that usually includes some low scores and growing pains. They still have potential for 380+ and hopefully can make that happen at ECAC's.

Next competition: ECAC Championships on April 8th

19. Temple Owls (-)

Four events went well for the Owls at USAG's and two did not (PH & HB). Casey Polizzotto and Misha Kustin both had good days for Temple.

20. SC United (-)

SC United competed at the USAG Nationals with a pair of AA'ers who finished well in the club division: Cecilio Garcia and Nicolas Horner.
