We are "New Pal Proud" of our students for achieving their personal best in pursuit of excellence!

Message from the Superintendent

Today is the midway point of the grading period. Congratulations on a successful and safe first half! As we prepare for ISTEP testing at the end of this month, we hope our students continue to make academic and scholastic gains each and every day!

Also, I want to wish all of our athletic and extra-curricular programs competing this weekend good luck! Four Dragon wrestlers compete in semi-state at New Castle on Saturday. Girls Basketball will play Pike in the regional at Decatur Central Saturday morning. Boys Basketball plays at home tonight against Shelbyville and Monday against Connersville. Good luck and Go Dragons! Congratulations are also in order for our middle school basketball teams. Both the 7th grade boys and girls teams ended their season undefeated and conference champs! Great job Bucks!

H.O.S.T.S Volunteers Needed!

The Helping One Student To Succeed program at New Palestine Elementary is seeking additional volunteers to help expand the popular program to include more students.

H.O.S.T.S. volunteers spend about an hour with two separate NPE students one day each week during the school year as a reading tutor. Research shows that one-on-one tutoring can benefit students significantly, particularly in reading! Varying time commitments are available. Our full-time volunteers work one hour once each week. Positions for substitutes that would be available as needed are also open. H.O.S.T.S. meets between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Monday-Thursday each week. If you'd like to volunteer, contact our H.O.S.T.S. coordinator Kendra Olin at kolin@newpal.k12.in.us.
