College Go Week
During the week of September 24th, we participated in College Go Week. Students learned about colleges, talked about what they want to be when they get older, and participated in dress-up days for the week!
Each month, Mrs. Megan Shake, Youth First Social Worker, visits each classroom to talk with students about character education and social/emotional learning. This past month, Mrs. Shake did an activity with students about being bucket fillers in relation to being kind to one another and building relationships.

They also learned about the life cycle of turkeys. 4-H Leaders spoke about the why and how to join 4-H. REMC had an excellent demonstration on electrical safety. The students ended the day with seeing the exotic animals with the Silly Safari.
Kindergarteners visit Apple Hill Orchard
On September 24th, our kindergarten classes went to Apple Hill Orchard in Bruceville. They learned about the different kinds of apple trees and how they are washed. They were also shown how to tell new growth on the trees. They discussed what items can be made out of apples and got to sample different kinds of apples and apple cider! They enjoyed lunch and some play time at the Washington Park.
