Hard at Play Nursery week 1 and 2 term 2a

We welcome back all the children who are able to be in school and thank them for bringing us smiles and laughter this week. We also send lots of love to those who are at home, you are not forgotten! We see you and we know how hard you are working.

It was an icy start to the week outdoors, which brought plenty of opportunities for learning through exploration. We became The Ice Hunters (with sticks and everything, it was fab!).

Scarlet had lots of questions about the ice.
'It is very cold' she observed.
Ice was hiding in unusual places.
Sienna started an ice shop.
Anyone for some ice?
'We can help you find more,' said the girls.
We became a team collecting ice.

It got a bit mucky outside mixing the melting ice with mud in the mud kitchen. Mud soup anyone?

Head chef Erin stirring the soup.
Brooke collecting some more mud.

Indoors we have started thinking 'big', exploring our interest in space, aliens and rockets.

We sang 'Five little men in a flying saucer' and cut out the aliens to help us with our counting.
Great scissor skills.
We've been drawing aliens too.
It was funny thinking of names for our aliens, using alliteration.
A funny looking alien.
Look at the flying saucers we have started making.

We've also been singing, building, making, reading, sharing, dressing up... the list goes on. Most importantly, it has been a week for reconnecting with our friends. Nursery is a very happy place to be thanks to all your wonderful children!
