Salisbury Men's Soccer SPRING 2021 SEASON PREVIEW

Looking Back at 2019

Salisbury ended the 2019 season with an overall record of 9-9-1 and a CAC (now Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference) record of 4-6. The Sea Gulls were led by Dolph Hegewisch who tallied four goals and six assists for 14 points and Cullen Myers who scored four goals and dished out four assists for 12 points.

At the conclusion of the season, four Sea Gulls were honored as All-Conference players. Hegewisch was a first-team selection while Ryan Spadin, Alex Eiben, and Myers all selected as second-team selections. Ryan Spadin was also named the first-ever CAC Men's Soccer Scholar Athlete of the Year.

2019 Seniors

KEY RETURNERS

Cullen Myers | Jr. | Forward

Myers returns to headline the forward line for the Sea Gulls in the Spring 2021 season. Myers was an All-CAC Second Team selection at the conclusion of the 2019 season after recording the teams second-best four goals and four assists for 12 points during the season.

Beau Johnson | Sr. | Midfield

A workhorse in the midfield for the Sea Gulls, Johnson saw action in 15 contests last year and earned 11 starts. Johnson took six shots with three of them being on goal.

LUKE AHALT | SR. | DEFENSE

In his first year as a Sea Gull, Ahalt brought speed to the Sea Gull defense. Ahalt will be a leader on defense after the graduation of the entire starting back line from a season ago. Ahalt found the back of the net twice in 2019.

GABE DUNN | SO. | gOALKEEPER

Dunn started in seven games in his first year and recorded 31 saves and racked up 635:12 minutes in the net for Salisbury.

RYAN MILLER | SO. | gOALKEEPER

In 2019, Miller played in 10 games with eight starts. Miller recorded ten saves and saw 822:51 minutes in net for the Sea Gulls.

MEET HEAD COACH

SCOTT BUETE

Coach Buete joins Sea Gull nation from the University of Maryland where he served as an assistant coach for seven seasons and helped lead the Terps to a 2018 National Championship.

During his time at UMD, the Terps won three Big Ten Tournament Championships, two Big Ten Regular Season Championships and appeared in six NCAA Tournaments. Buete also coached four Terrapins who were named All-Americans, 13 MLS SuperDraft selections, four MLS homegrown signees and two U.S. Men's National Team players.

SPRING 2021 SEASON

The Sea Gulls are expected to compete in five games, including two against C2C opponents, during the shortened spring season. Salisbury will be on the road for the first two games at St. Mary's and Washington College, then will return home to Sea Gull Soccer Stadium for the final three games against CNU, Johns Hopkins and Stevenson. All games are subject to change.
