Circus Skills Week 3

It’s been another busy week in year 1/2! In maths this week we have begun working on subtraction. We have used our giant tens frame and numicon to help us with our calculations.

On Tuesday we thoroughly enjoyed our first session with Seven Stories following up with Circus Skills. We used peacock feathers to practise balancing and had to watch carefully and move around in a bid to keep the feathers as vertical as possible.

We met Sally the Scientist this week; she came to talk to us about trees and how important the are to help keep the air clean, especially in built up areas where there is a lot of air pollution because of the volume of cars. She helped us make some posters to raise awareness.

Finally this week, we started to sew our Christmas owls. The children did an amazing job and are so excited about decorating them. Look at the concentration on their faces!
