Haiti is a country attached to Dominican Republic. It has a tropical climate because it is by the equator. There are lots of palm trees that can reach 60 feet tall. Columbus landed on the island in 1492. The capital of Haiti is Port-au-prince. There is 95% percent black people in Haiti and 5% white people in Haiti. The population is 9,801,664. That's really big. Their parents are strict but affectionate to their children. Their daily diet is made up of vegetables, fruit, and spicy meat.
The land is tropical with a lot of palm trees. It has lots of mountains and it can get really hot. The temperature is mainly hot throughout the year. By the coastline, flat and rich sea life expands. The total amount of of square kilometers is 27,750.
SOLUTIONS TO THEir CHALLENGES
The Red Cross and World Vision have given lots of hope to the Haitians in need. They have trained a lot of Haitians to learn, get jobs and get supplies to help people live. They're bringing shelter, emergency relief, water and sanitation, livelihoods and cholera. The Red Cross has built 22 hospitals and clinics. They have helped 135,000 people build safe houses. They have also helped build more than 9,000 toilets to make the neighborhoods cleaner.
