Christmas Movie List For some, Christmas is the beginning of the most wonderful time of the year. And with that time of year comes the most wonderful movies of the year. Below is a list of what is known to be the best Christmas movies of the season.

The Grinch

The Grinch is a classic Christmas story. A green, evil creature decides to ruin Christmas by stealing all of the Who’s presents and Christmas decorations. But in the end, the Grinch learns the true meaning of Christmas and Christmas is saved. Whether you watch the original cartoon, the real-people version, or the new cartoon released this year, you will love the message and eventually the Grinch too.

White Christmas

Titled after the famous song by Bing Crosby, White Christmas is a timeless old Hollywood movie. With lots of singing and dancing, you will be humming the songs long after the film is over.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

The story of the famous red-nosed reindeer comes to life in this film. Rudolph struggles throughout the film to find his place among the reindeer until the end when Santa trusts Rudolph to lead his sleigh.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

A Charlie Brown Christmas is similar to the Christmas story of Scrooge. Throughout the film, Charlie Brown struggles to find the true meaning of Christmas amongst materialistic things. By the end, Charlie Brown learns that Christmas is about remembering the birth of Jesus and spending time with loved ones. A Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic, family friendly holiday film.

Frosty the Snowman

Based on the beloved song, Frosty the Snowman follows the animated and merry snowman. Frosty comes to life during the holiday season and befriends a group of children. The children must find a way to keep Frosty from melting, but not before he teaches the children the true meaning of Christmas. Though Frosty melts in the end, he leaves a lasting impact on the children. He surely was a jolly, happy soul!

The Santa Clause

Ever dreamed that your dad was Santa Clause? In this film, Charlie’s father becomes Santa when he accidentally scares Santa and causes him to fall from the roof of their house. After coming to terms with his new job, Charlie’s father embraces his new job and becomes the best Santa Clause ever. A touching father-and-son story, The Santa Clause will leave you wishing your dad was Santa.

Elf

Buddy the Elf accidentally crawled into Santa’s gift bag as a baby and is raised as an elf in the North Pole. After feeling like something is missing, Buddy sets out to find his biological parents. Throughout the film, Buddy finds himself while spreading the Christmas spirit. A heartwarming film, Elf is a reminder of the childlike wonder that comes with Christmas.

Polar Express

The Polar Express is not only a classic Christmas story, it will also restore your faith in Santa Clause and the Christmas spirit. The story follows a young boy that is picked up by the Polar Express because he does not believe in Santa. Throughout the night, the boy and his friends adventure through snow and elves to eventually see the man himself. The boy is then awarded with a bell that can only be heard by those that believe. The Polar Express is a reminder to always believe in the magic of Christmas.

Love Actually

Love Actually follows the love stories of nine couples through the most wonderful time of the year. With plenty of laughs and love, Love Actually focuses on the Christmas spirit and how it is not complete without love.

The Holiday

Following the lives of two women defeated by love, The Holiday restores the spirit of Christmas through love. Two women switch homes and immerse themselves in each other’s lives. While attempting to forget their troubles, both women find new love in their temporary homes amidst the Christmas spirit. The Holiday demonstrates the love and joy that comes with Christmas.

Disney’s A Christmas Carol

Scrooge, the man that hates Christmas, is visited by three ghosts: the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. Throughout the film, Scrooge is reminded of the true love and joy Christmas brings. A classic tale, Disney recreates the story A Christmas Carol for the whole family to enjoy.

Home Alone

Eight year-old Kevin is left home while his family travels to Paris for Christmas vacation. Though Kevin tries to enjoy his break, he must protect his home from two of the town’s burglars. Kevin successfully protects his home just in time for his family to return, devastated they had left him at home. Home Alone is the perfect Christmas film when looking for a laugh.
