F1 EVO building a High Performance Airplane

This pages are about building an airplane and if you don't have the time, just forget it! It took about 4 years to finish a F1 EVO quickbuild kit. More than half a year was lost when we were chasing an electrical problem which actually never existed. I helped my buddy Wolfgang and we spent Saturday after Saturday and hour after hour in his shop. Sometimes it was very frustrating, sometimes it was a rush, but we did not quit.

July 17th, 2006 everything was forgotten! The final inspection by the FAA was passed with flying colors (German workmanship I guess) and brandnew supercharged F1 EVO with almost 360 HP at Take Off was ruling the sky!

After that experience we were kind of addicted and bought another kit. This time Wolfgang was helping me in my shop and the airplane is a four seat BEARHAWK. But that story will be subject of a separate page.

Anyway, we still enjoy building airplanes, but we could not have done it without the support, the patience and tolerance of Michelle and Heike, our wifes! A big thank you to both of you!

a lot of work was already done, when on July 24th, 2003 the mighty AEIO-540-EXP 300HP engine arrived

September 2004 the engine was hung, much of the electrical system and the instrument panel were installed
