TES Paw Print Volume 1 Issue 1

It's Great to be a Trion Bulldog!

We couldn’t be more thrilled to have our students back at school with us! It is so wonderful to see the incredible things that they are already accomplishing academically and socially through the work of our outstanding teachers and staff at Trion Elementary School. Thank you for sharing your precious children with us!

Wellness Break

Due to the recent impact of COVID, Trion City Schools will extend the Labor Day weekend to include Friday, September 3rd as an additional student and staff day not in school. This four day wellness break will provide an opportunity for our custodial team to disinfect and deep clean our building, as well as allow our students and staff time to rest and rejuvenate. We will have all of our students and staff return to school on Tuesday, September 7th, with the exception of those students and/or staff members who have tested positive for COVID and are fulfilling their 10 day quarantine period. We are tremendously appreciative for the continuous support from our families and community.

TES Staff Member of the Month

Congratulations to our August Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Amanda Burke! Mrs. Burke is always ready to assist our students, staff, and families with anything they need, and does so with such a positive attitude. She is a true asset to TES.

Character Word of the Month

Cheerful

Being cheerful means that you are full of good spirits, noticeably happy, and optimistic. We love to see our cheerful students and their beautiful smiles!

Class Dojo

If you have not yet connected to your child’s Class Dojo account, please take the time to do so. This is our main communication platform. It is simple to connect and extremely user friendly!

Health & Safety

The health and safety of our students is always our first priority. Please help us by closely monitoring your child for symptoms of sickness each day. If your child is sick, please keep them home. Families will be notified if your child is determined to have been in close contact with an individual that tested positive for COVID via phone call. Close contact quarantines from school are at the discretion of the parent at this time. However, if a member of your household tests positive for COVID, students within the household are required to quarantine. If a child is awaiting COVID test results, they must quarantine until results are received. Please notify the school immediately if your child or a member of your household tests positive for COVID.

Virtual T.E.A.M. Night

We believe that teaming with our families makes us stronger in achieving our goals toward each child showing academic growth. We would like to invite you to join us virtually for our first T.E.A.M. night on Tuesday, Sept. 21st. Our staff will be sharing current reading data, as well as engaging games and activities that you can play at home to help develop foundational reading skills. If you have children in multiple grade levels, choose one child to attend the meeting virtually at 5:30. For your other children, our teachers will share their presentations and information through Class Dojo for you to view. PLEASE take a few moments to virtually join us that evening at 5:30. I promise, you will be glad you did! Each child with an adult in attendance will receive a free popsicle from Mrs. Pelham and Mrs. Brock on Friday, Sept. 24th.
