More Outdoor Fun

The children have had lots of fun playing outdoors this week. They have practiced their gross motor skills by waving sticks that have ribbons attached to the ends. When the ribbons twirl they make large movements in the air. Wednesday was particularly fun because it was a windy day and the way the ribbons moved in the wind reminded some of the children of kites. This week the children have also been playing with the recycled instruments they made last week. There was lots of lovely singing and dancing from all who took part.

Over the past few weeks we have been reading the story of Captain Pete and the Treasure Map. The children love this story and are becoming familiar with the characters and structure. During our Mantle session we drew around one of the children to represent Captain Pete and the class talked confidently on what they could remember about the life of a pirate. Well done all 🙂
