ary Recta, a sophomore honor student at Lecanto High School (LHS), has been nominated for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in Boston. The Congress is for high school students who want to be physicians or go into medical research fields. Recta has achieved the extraordinary. The event is meant to inspire future medical leaders and advise them to stay true to their dream.
Recta has been someone to look up to for many LHS students, including sophomore Duddley Bois.
“She’s a very intelligent young woman who must have worked hard to achieve something like this,” Bois said. “I honestly think she represents this school in a positive way and is someone who deserves honor and respect through her career. I wish her the best of luck.”
Students who see Recta in her everyday life know how dutifully she strives to accomplish her goals.
“She works unbelievably hard,” said sophomore Arraiol Stevens. “She also succeeds in her time management skills. She has even taught me how to balance my academics and extracurricular activities.”
Recta readily accepted advice from teachers to help her get where she is today.
“The teachers have definitely influenced me to succeed,” she said. “They’ve pushed me to pursue any opportunity I can get to succeed in life.”
Inspiration from her mother impacted Recta’s choice to become a medical leader in her future.
“I chose a career in the medical field because my mom is in the medical field and as I grew of age, I watched her helping people throughout that field,” she said. “I realized helping people was something I’m really optimistic about and was something I wanted to do.”
