Garden City Grant and Charitable Contribution Announcement Press Release for Immediate Publication February 1, 2018

Garden City is offering certain small grants to local organizations to assist those organizations in the furtherance of their missions. The grants will be based upon a clear nexus to the health and welfare of the City and its residents and/or businesses and will provide a benefit to the Garden City community.

Grant Particulars:
Application Deadline Date: February 28th, 2018
Funding Date: Grants will be awarded March 30th, 2018
May 30, 2017, Bee City USA-Garden City Pollinator Habitat Planting Day

Project Eligibility:

Project Eligibility: The request shall not be greater than 50% of total event or project. The request shall not be greater than $1,000. The project MUST be in or for Garden City, Idaho. The project MUST have a clear nexus to benefit Garden City residents and, or Garden City businesses.

Project Restrictions:

Project Restrictions: The following requests are not eligible to receive a grant: •Capital Projects • Reduction of debt • Travel • Attendance at conferences, seminars, or other similar programs

Standard:

Standards of review will include, but not be limited to the below criteria: Eligible projects may not meet all standards. • Furthering a sense of community • Making Garden City a better place to live • Making Garden City safer • Bridging cultural or neighborhood gaps • Generating civic pride or dialogue • Spurring economic potential • Benefits to Garden City residents
