Thursday March 22

Today you will leave for Cambodia in the evening with an overnight flight to Siem Reap. Although you'll be leaving today, your flight doesn't leave Delhi until 11:25 pm, so I've booked you in for an additional night at the hotel. Aptly named after 'a territory of Angkor', Borei Angkor Resort & Spa, a truly Cambodia 5 star hotel in Siem Reap is set right in the center of Siem Reap, ideally situated within 15 minutes drive either from Siem Reap International Airport or to Angkor Wat, and only 5 minutes drive to Siem Reap downtown including Pub Street, shopping malls, Angkor Night Market, local restaurants and bars, and other nearby local attractions in Siem Reap.

Saturday March 24

Excursion - Private Full Day Angkor Tour: Your local guide will be ready to meet you in the hotel lobby to begin this full day tour of the Angkor complex. The tour will include a visit of Angkor Thom, royal capital of prolific builder Jayavarman VII, dating from the late twelfth century. Most striking of the monuments is the Bayon, a mountain of face-towers, said to be the likeness of the king himself, viewing his realm in all directions. Outside of Angkor Thom, view the remains of Ta Prohm which has been left as it was rediscovered, entwined by strangler-figs. Lunch is taken at a local restaurant. In the afternoon visit the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, state-temple of Suriyavarman II, from the early 12th century and the largest religious monument on earth. A late afternoon view may be taken from the Phnom Bakeng. Pick up at 9:00 am. Duration: 10 hours 30 minutes.

Bayon Temple
Bayon Face Towers

Included:

  • Local transportation
  • Guide
  • One day entrance pass to the Angkor complex
  • Lunch

Please Note: The Apsara Authority, which manages the park, reserves the right to refuse entry to certain areas of the site for guests who wear clothing which is considered immodest. No smoking, drinking alcohol, or touching the carvings is permitted in and around the temples.

Sunday March 25

NOTE: I looked into wildlife sanctuaries in Siem Reap. It appears the only one is the Angkor Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity (more info here). The ACCB is located at the historical site of Kbal Spean, 42km northeast of Siem Reap, which is about an hour’s drive by tuk tuk. To minimize stress for the animals, visiting hours are limited to two guided tours daily, from Monday to Saturday, at 9am and 1pm sharp. A tour lasts approximately 1h30min. Being a registered non profit organisation, the ACCB requests a minimum donation of $3 USD a person. All donations received go directly to food and treatments for the animals. You would arrange this through the hotel when you arrive. I also looked into elephant sanctuaries but the closet one is a 9-hour bus ride.

Pricing

Reminder: Nothing is being held at this time and prices and availability are not guaranteed until a deposit is made. Because this a complex, multi-destination itinerary, multiple upfront deposits will need to be made to guarantee the full itinerary. Specifically, all flights will need to be paid up front; hotels, airport transfers, and excursions are part of a single package and will need only one deposit to secure.

Pricing for this itinerary is 4 parts and based on 4 adults staying in two hotel rooms:

  1. Qatar Airways flights from IAD - BOM; BOM - AMS
  2. Intra-Asia Flights (various carriers): BOM - DEL; DEL- REP; REP - BOM
  3. Icelandair flights from AMS - IAD
  4. Hotel, Transfers, and Excursions

1. Qatar Airways

Business Class Flights

  • Per person: $X

2. Intra-Asia Flights (various carriers)

Mixed Business/Economy Class Flights

  • Per Person: $X

3. Icelandair Flights

Business Class Flights

  • Per Person: $X

4. Hotels, Transfers, and Excursions

  • Per Person: $X

Total Per Person Price for all Segments: $X

With all these moving parts, we'll also want to discuss getting travel insurance. It's not required but I HIGHLY recommend it - particularly for a multi-country trip like this. But we can discuss that once we've decided on an itinerary.

Thanks again for letting me help you with this!
