Desert Willow Elementary Learning for life and loving to learn March 17, 2021

Next week our schools will be closed for Spring Break. I hope you are able to enjoy time with your family and take advantage of the fantastic weather we enjoy in Arizona. Please remember to make reasonable choices that will continue to keep our community healthy and safe. Students have been working hard this year, and although I encourage them to keep reading each day, they have definitely earned a break! We are looking forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready to return to learning on March 29.

Hello DWES parents. Thank you for your kind and generous donations of boxes, TP and paper towel cores, cups, and many other items for the sculpture center. This center is by far the students' favorite this year. So many imaginative creations come out of it! Please continue to send in any crafty or repurposable items like those mentioned above. We are especially in need of more tan masking tape. Thanks so much!!

Roadrunners are Respectful, Responsible, & Kind

This month, our school wide theme is empathy. We’ll be reminding students to have empathy, identify their own and others’ feelings, notice and respect the same and different feelings, and show compassion. When students can identify, understand, and respond in a caring way to how someone else is feeling, it helps create a positive and accepting school climate.

You can extend this idea at home by talking about your own feelings and modeling empathy for others.
