KIND – Kindness Is Needed Daily.

ME Kindness Campaign

All staff and students at ME are taking part of a Kindness Campaign sponsored by the 5th grade SOAR senate. We are encouraged to think about and decide to do as many acts of kindness as possible. When we do a kind act or observe someone being kind, we write it on a paper heart. A growing and dynamic display of kindness hearts is up in the cafeteria hallway. Leaders choose to be kind because it is the kind thing to do!

Middle School Summit Information

Middle School Information for Summit Families

Yikes! We have to start thinking about middle school – already! Several of you have older children who have gone through the Summit middle school program, but for many of you this is your first time down this road. In order to provide you with information, and for both you and your child to visit Explorer Middle School (EX), several events are planned in March.

  • March 2 – parent info meeting with EX principal
  • March 9 – our classes visit EX
  • March 9 – this is also our Summit Expo night here at ME and our students will showcase their inventions.
  • March 23 – open house at EX
  • March 30 – EX counselors come to ME during the school day to sign up our students for next year’s classes. This is flexible and not edged in stone

Read Across America Week

Read Across America Week

Motivating children to read is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading do better in school. To celebrate reading, please send your child to school with red, black, and white clothing on 2 March 2017.
