Why I love a country that once betrayed me | George Takei

When he was a child, George Takei and his family were forced into an internment camp for Japanese-Americans, as a "security" measure during World War II. Seventy years later, Takei looks back at how the camp shaped his surprising, personal definition of patriotism and democracy.

Resources for Educators

Educate, Engage, Empower

The intent of this Spark is to provide information, resources, and support for JCPS employees. This is not comprehensive, as the contributions of Asian Pacific Islander Americans is far too in depth to be contained by this Spark. Let us all continue to amplify the voice and perspectives of marginalized groups both in the classroom and community.
