Our mission is to ignite the passion, build the academic skills, and foster the character necessary for our students to be leaders of change... now, and into their future.
Our students engage in authentic work and learn with a purpose—getting smart to do good— and see that their education is in service of building a better world. Our school motto is: "leaders of change".
EL EDUCATION: Realms High School is a member of the EL Education network. EL Education is a national school reform model born out of a collaboration between Outward Bound and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

WHO WE ARE
Realms High School is a small and growing "choice option" high school in Bend. In the 2021-22 school year we will enroll up to 55 new freshman and have a total student enrollment of approximately 175-200 students.

Students at Realms High School will graduate with the academic skills necessary to excel in college, the hands on experience needed to thrive in careers and - most importantly - the character and mindset needed to tackle the most pressing problems facing our communities and planet!
Our students understand that character growth matters as much as academic growth. As a community, we emphasize teamwork, determination, compassion, service to others, and a strong sense of belonging and pride.

CHALLENGING, REAL WORLD LEARNING
Rigorous academic content comes to life through interdisciplinary learning expeditions focused on real world topics and problems. These learning expeditions lead students beyond the classroom walls and into the field where they collect data, participate in service projects, interact with experts and apply their classroom learning in real world settings.
Students build academic content knowledge and master discipline-specific skills needed to create and present high-quality culminating projects.

COURSES & ELECTIVES
Students at Realms HS have access to standard and advanced courses including Honors track courses, AP courses, and dual credit courses like Writing 121 and Math 105.
Elective courses include computer science, music appreciation, creative writing as well as our awesome "Intensives Program"
