cann i be more pampered? All about cbd oil, by holli johnson

Hello, I'm Holli Johnson your CBD oil Expert

This is a break down guide for all of your questions/concerns about CBD oil. I have to tell you a behind the scenes story from when I was a child and hopefully to break the ice and your concerns of what you may also be cautious of.

My mom got me Hempz Body lotion when I was probably 12-13. I remember the D.A.R.E. program from 5th grade and that I should stay away from Marijuana! I thought forsure I was going to get arrested for having a marijuana plant on my bottle. Boy was I wrong.

I was legit worried sick. I had a small little bottle in my book bag and had it hidden inside of a zippered pencil case. I would only use when no one else was around- just in case someone saw me using it. I was shocked my mom would buy me pot, looking back what kind of mother would do such a thing. Jokes on me.

Now since educating myself on good ingredients and how wonderful hemp seed oil is especially for the lush, moisturized and supple skin I would get from using it because of the fatty acids, omegas and proteins. I have been learning and educating myself all about the parts of the plant that are used and for what purpose, to have a much firmer grasp on the concept and I hope to release any worries or concerns about having a bottle with a pot leaf on it.

I will share my favorite combos of our CBD oil with other fun Posh products too which is what I use and love to share. I have loved what the CBD oil has done for me with old cheer injury in my wrist and aches/pains of knees grinding and lower back/sciatica pain and getting older pains. If you have been curious about CBD and what it could possibly do for you, you are right here to get all the info you want! Let's get to it!

Our 3 types of oils! We will cover them all below!

So, What is Cannabidiol?

AKA CBD OIL

Non psychoactive oil derived from Cannabis Sativa also known as the Hemp Plant.

This is a cousin plant that is often confused for Marijuana.

The two plants are completely different. One is psychoactive and gets you high, also known as Marijuana plant. The other, the Cannabis Sativa plant is just Hemp and is used for textiles, fabrics, ropes, paper, mulch, compost, insulation and fiber board. And there is also the part that is used for medicinal properties which is where our CBD comes from.

I like to compare the plants to apples. There are many types of apples. Some are great for baking, others are perfect for apple cider and applesauce.

IS CBD LEGAL?

Many people worry that CBD oil is "pot" and that it will get you high and start craving gas station food. I assure you, it is NOT the same thing. It is also completely legal in all 50 states as per the 2018 Farm Bill, as long as the THC level is less than 0.3%. Posh tests their oils numerous times before it gets to you and makes sure that it is in compliance with all standards and laws. There's nothing to worry about here.

Marijuana is the high, Hemp is the relax & pamper plant!

HOW IS CBD OIL USED?

There are two ways. Topically & Internally.

Our CBD at Posh is labeled as a topical oil. You can use it stand-alone or with another product of your choice. It enhances the pampering experience by allowing the Cannabidiol to help your natural Endocannabinoid System in our bodies to do its job more proficiently.

The ECS system is super amazing at what it does to help with Immunity, Pain, Mood, Energy, Inflammation and Stress-Response.

While all of our CBD product is food grade and made in a food grade facility, due to strict labeling laws in some states, we have decided to keep ours as a topical only product.

At first, CBD use has been skeptical by many people. But it is growing popularity for those seeking a natural alternative to prescription medications whose side effects lists are longer than the ailment they are supposed to help. Being a natural occuring compound, let alone a cannabis compound could treat a variety of conditions. Medical researchers from Harvard back up these claims.

I am not a medical professional and cannot make these medical claims myself- but I can share with you my testimonials and those of my colleagues and customers who swear by their use that it has helped them with inflammation in their joints, sleep patterns, sore achy muscles and relief from pain from surgeries.

HOW IS THE CBD MADE?

Our CBD oil is hand planted in a greenhouse by using the best mother plants to get starts from. They are grown in the hands of a family of farmers who are talking, singing and hand watering the plants. Carefully they are transplanted by hand out in the fields in May/June depending on weather conditions. And then harvested late August, September and October.

All of our hemp plants are grown & processed in Mesa County, Colorado, by seasoned Hemp growers. It's important to know that Mesa County is a dry growing county to Marijuana, meaning it cannot grow there. Having a large reduction of pollination of Marijuana plants from bees, harvesting equipment, or even the wind is a sure way to ensure that your oils don't get too much THC.

These are not just your backyard neighbors plants. These are third generation hemp growers who are masters of their craft. Not a guy who decided to jump on the bandwagon and throw up some plants in his backyard.

Meet Ann, Posh's CEO & Dave (the CBD guy)

All of their processes are done by hand, are pesticide-free and they also use every part of the plant.

  • Roots: used for medicinal purposes.
  • Stalk: makes fiber, paper, insulation, compost, animal bedding, fiber boards.
  • Leaves: mulch and compost.
  • Seeds & oils make up hemp oil. (no CBD found in this)
  • Flowers & Buds: Medicinal & recreation use where all the cannabinoids (over 100) are at.

The flowers and buds is what we use for our Cann I Be products.

How is it processed?

After the plants are harvested the processing begins. First they are dried and can be stored up to 2 years. We used all of last years already! And plan on using more this year.

Once it's dried they mulch it by hand into smaller pieces and put it in a vat and pour 200 proof alcohol to cover the buds and flowers. It is then cooled to -60° C using Nitrogen and they let it soak for 30 min while being agitated every ten minutes, again by hand and filtered three times.

The temperature is then warmed up a bit so the alcohol can be evaporated off to get rid of the dirt, bug poop and bird poop to get it ready to be made into our tinctures, bath bomb and skin stick.

Meet Dave and see how this process is done! It is quite fascinating

Seed to shelf

We have a very strict Chain of Custody, so we know exactly what field, what green house it was started in and what day it was harvested and sent to be processed.

This guy's brains of the operation + This guy's plants + This guy's farm + This guy's processing/extracting facility + Ann's love of all things pampering = Cann I Be Products from Perfectly Posh.

THIRD PARTY TESTED

After the growers test the products, it is then sent to a third party, Independent Lab to also get tested. This test is crucial to have done for every single batch of CBD that is processed. It ensures the ultimate quality control down to metals in the ground, pesticides, microbiology, and how much THC is actually present in the product and that you are actually getting the amount of CBD oil that the label claims to be in the dark glass bottle.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF OILS?

Cannabinoids from the hemp plant has to be processed and separated to give us the best quality. Our cannabinoids are processed using a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with labcoats, hair nets, and multi-million dollar medical grade equipment.

Is there a difference in cheaper and more expensive oils? What are the different types of oils on the market?

FULL SPECTRUM: Is what Posh uses. It has THC present and up to the code of the Farm Bill in less than 0.3%. Full Spectrum also gives us the Entourage Effect in the way Mother Earth intended us to use it. Keeping all parts of the plant together means you get the maximum benefits allowed.

Isolate: has to be cleaned and stripped of the THC with about 30% effectiveness.

Broad Spectrum: Typically no THC but usually the ingredients are way more processed with harsh detergents and usually much cheaper.

TERPENE INFO:

The natural flavors and aromas of the Hemp plants are specific to each plant. Watch this short video to find out more.

WHY THC vs NO THC?

1. Cost- THC full spectrum is a much more natural product than one that's been stripped with detergents & cleaners to separate the CBD from the THC. With this- the cost and efficacy is much higher and its leaving it in its purest form.

2. THC allows for the cannabinoids to function more like how our Endocannabinoid System works. The THC delivers much easier to the receptors in our body such as brain, lungs, muscles, & immune system.

3. Work & Drug Testing. Even though all 50 states are covered under the Farm Bill, there are some businesses and employers who have a very strict policy against CBD oil users. The largest trace we have on our THC levels is 0.03% (a very, very tiny portion) If you have a job that is something you could get fired from- talk with your HR department and find out where there stance is. I am happy to provide you a copy of our third-party testing sheet.

HOW DO I USE CBD OIL?

My favorite is directly from the tincture. Place a drop or two to your pressure points to connect with body's natural receptors. Or by using the Skin Stick, you can just apply directly.

Another great place is actually your belly button. I know it sounds kinda funny, but it is the lifeline for all of your organs.

Mix a drop or two into your favorite Posh product. I personally LOVE Mad for Magnesium. (the combination is bomb) or into your face moisturizer or lotions or into your bathtub.

How much should I be using?

IS HEMP OIL THE SAME AS CBD?

It is not the same. Hemp oil is derived from the hemp seeds. CBD is derived from the flowers/buds of the Hemp Plant.

When shopping for CBD oil there are some things to look for.
  • Where is it sourced from? Manufactured?
  • Is there a chain of custody in place to know exactly where it has been?
  • Is there third party testing readily available?
  • Is the company licensed to actually sell it?
  • Was it treated with pesticides? Tested for metals?
  • How is it processed?

Chances are if it is NOT working for you, you either have a less effective product, one that has been diluted too much and is not what the bottle claims to be, or you are not using enough product. Let's chat on ways of making it better for you or replacing it to something that will work much better.

IS ALL CBD OIL THE SAME?

I am so glad you asked. No! All CBD oil is NOT created equal, quite the opposite actually. There is sooo many sketchy oils out on the market. And whether you buy from me or someone else, I just hope you buy it from someone you know and TRUST! Just please promise me you won't go pick up some at the local gas station or on Amazon. You may as well be throwing away your money or flushing it down the toilet. People are getting ripped off there and getting products that are not QUALITY at all.

This is a whole new world of CBD and it really is the wild west. We must get educated before we start down the CBD oil pathway.

Buying Full Spectrum is going to give you the best results, as it is leaving all the good stuff intact.

Make sure you are not buying a hemp seed oil or hemp seed stalk. These are the common ones and much cheaper- but they will not give you the full results you may be wanting.

Confirm the third party testing has been completed so you know FOR SURE that you are getting what you are paying for. So many say they are a 500mg and they are actually quite a bit less. This testing will ensure you get what you paid for.

If you don't feel comfortable or know or trust the person- you can say no or ask for more information. It should be readily available to you! If it's not- RUN! There are soo many companies and people taking advantage of people who don't know any better. You trust me as your posh girl to give it to you straight, so here I am. I am trained and I have the answers.
