Women's Council New Member Orientation 2019

The Conway Regional Women’s Council is an advocacy group of the Conway Regional Health Foundation that promotes women’s health education and provides support for fundraising and volunteer services benefiting Conway Regional Health System. The Council is open to women of all ages who would like the opportunity to learn more about women’s health issues while contributing their talents toward the improvement of women’s health in their communities.

The Conway Regional Women’s Council was started in 2001 by Mrs. Janice Robbins, wife of Conway Regional’s previous CEO, John Robbins, and 15 original Steering Committee members—many of whom still serve in some capacity today. The first Council event was the “In Her Honor” Gala for the opening of the Women’s Center. Since then, the Women’s Council has held an annual health fair, numerous luncheons, community programs, and other health-related events to build awareness, and encourage women to live healthier lives. In addition to programs, the Women’s Council provides significant financial support to the Conway Regional Health Foundation through Dazzle Daze—our flagship event. Over the last 15 years, members of the Women’s Council have given countless hours as ambassadors, advocates and volunteers . They continue to make a difference in our community through their service.

Time Expectations:

Committee Involvement

The Women’s Council functions through committees. All Women’s Council members must serve on at least one committee. Member are allowed to join more than one committee; however, to avoid “burn-out” it is highly encouraged that members not join more than two committees.

Programs & Events

All members must assist with at least one program sponsored by the Program Committee or one special event sponsored by the Foundation office. A list of events can be found in your Orientation Packet and on the Conway Regional Women’s Council page at http://www.conwayregional.org/WomensCouncil.

Dazzle Daze

All members agree to assist with Dazzle Daze as either a Dazzle Daze committee member or as a volunteer for at least one shift. There will be volunteer shifts available up to three weeks prior to Dazzle Daze. If you are unable to volunteer during Dazzle Daze, you will have the opportunity to serve prior to the event. Volunteer shifts will be made available to all members by email. Women’s Council members will be emailed a link which will send them to an online sign-up sheet, called Volunteer Hub. Volunteer Hub will have every shift listed.
