He was baptized in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Stratford on Wednesday April 26, 1564. This date effects his birthday because it was a tradition that you are baptized 3 days after you were born.

Q) What was important about Stafford-upon-Avon in the 16th century? A) Stratford is a meeting place of roads crossing the Avon River Afon is the Celtic name for river. It had been settled from the Bronze Age.

Q) Name 2 acting companies that Shakespeare was associated with. A) The Queens Men or the Lord Chamberlains Men named after their patrons.

Q) What is the Probable year hat Romeo and Juliet was written. A) 1562

Q) What day and year did Shakespeare die? Why is this interesting date? How old was Shakespeare when he died? A) He died on April 23, 1616, his birthday. He was interred in the Holy Trinity Church, the same church he had been Baptized.
