The All-Decade team for women's track and field features a nice balance - most of the main event categories are represented on this list!

(NOTE - this team is in alphabetical order)

Madison Arnouts (2015-18)

  • Holds school records in the 100 meter hurdles (15.50) and the 400 meter hurdles (60.34)
  • Broke record in the 100 meter hurdles that had stood since 1986
  • Ranks second in school history in the 60 meter hurdles (9.24)
  • GLIAC Champion in the 400 hurdles in 2017
  • Competed at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 400 hurdles

Kelsey Burgess (2013-14)

  • School-record holder in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:52.06
  • Holds the steeple record by over 36 seconds
  • Ranks on the Northwood list in five different events, including third in the outdoor 5,000 (17:45.90)
  • Earned top-five finishes in both of her seasons at Northwood in the steeplechase at the GLIAC Championships
  • Competed in the steeplechase at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships

Kristin Cameron (2009-12)

  • Five-time All-American for Northwood, earning the honor three times in the hammer throw and twice in the weight throw
  • Also earned CoSIDA Academic All-America honors in 2012
  • Holds four school records: indoor shot put (14.67 meters), weight throw (19.48 meters), outdoor shot put (13.81 meters) and hammer throw (59.15 meters)
  • Was an All-GLIAC performer in all eight conference championships she competed in
  • Elected to the Northwood Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019

Carly D'Almeida (2015-18)

  • Ranks on the Northwood performance list in four different events
  • Stands second in school history in both the weight throw and the hammer throw
I watched Carly's early attempts at the hammer throw after starting her Northwood career as a basketball player. Her level of improvement from that moment to the end of her career was very impressive. If not for Kristin Cameron, she would be the best thrower of the decade.

Jennifer McKenna (2014-17)

  • Name appears 10 times in the Northwood record book, ranging from the 800 meter run all the way through the 5,000
  • Part of the NU school record distance medley relay team in 2014
  • Holds school record in the 1,000 meter run indoors (3:03.21)
  • Ranks second in school history in five different events

Danielle Miller (2011-14)

  • School record holder in the 10,000 (35:12.03) by more than 24 seconds
  • Also holds the indoor 3,000 meter run record (9:52.42) by more than 14 seconds
  • Part of school-record holding Distance Medley Relay team (11:57.40)
  • Won the 5K at the 2014 GLIAC Indoor Championships
  • Finished fifth in the 5K at the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships
  • Won the 10K at the 2014 GLIAC Championships
  • Competed at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships
The distance runner of the decade for Northwood. And is on the short list of greatest distance runners in school history

Elana Meadows (2014-17)

  • Holds school records in the indoor long jump (5.84 meters) as well as the outdoor long jump (5.87 meters)
  • Claimed first place in the long jump at the 2016 GLIAC Indoor Championships
  • Placed 10th in the long jump at the 2016 NCAA Indoor Championships
  • Finished in the top three in the long jump at the GLIAC Championships three times in her career
  • Part of school-record holding 4x100 meter relay team outdoors
  • Name appears a total of nine times in the Northwood record book, including in all of the short sprints both indoors and outdoors

Madison Pines (2011-14)

  • Holds four school records in indoor track: the 800, (2:13.30), the mile (4:55.04), the 4X400 meter relay (3:59.58) and the distance medley relay (11:57.40)
  • Also holds a pair of records outdoors: the 800 (2:11.86) and the 1,500 (4:29.46)
  • Qualified for the NCAA Championships six times in her career
  • 2013 GLIAC Champion in the 1,500
  • 2014 CoSIDA Academic All-American
  • Two-time winner of the Elite 89 award, giving to the student-athlete competing at the NCAA Championships with the highest grade point average

Heaven Powell (2016-19)

  • Broke the oldest school record in the indoor performance list in 2019, setting a new mark in the high jump (1.71)
  • Old record had stood since 1985
  • Stands second in school history in the outdoor high jump (1.70)
  • Was a Second Team All-American at the 2019 Indoor Championships, placing 11th overall in the high jump
  • Finished second in the high jump at the 2019 outdoor GLIAC Championships
  • Finished in the top four in the high jump at the GLIAC Championships three times in her career

Kayti Simonson (2009-12)

  • Won the GLIAC Championship in the 400 meter hurdles
  • Stands second in school history in the 400 meter hurdles (61.78)
  • Part of school-record holding 4X400 meter relay team indoors (3:59.58)
  • Also part of best 4X800 meter relay in school history outdoors (10:07.04)
  • Name appears a total of seven times in the Northwood record book
