History lesson 5 Diana Riojas

Civil war came out in Russia. Many people were dying from influenza. There were peace talks, and the Big Four spoke there. The Big Four were President Wilson, Prime Minister David Lloyd George of Great Britain, George's Clemenceau France's Premier, Vittorio Orlando the Prime Minister of Italy.

President Wilson

Woodrow Wilson was optimistic. He had a vision of a just and lasting peace. He called this plan the 14 points. Some of these points dealt with adjusting boundaries in Europe in creating new nations. These points reflected Wilson's belief in national self-determination. That is the right of people to decide how they should be governed. The United States never joined the League of Nations.
