Abraham was the first Jew and is considered the founder of Judaism. Abraham received the message from God to start Judaism. But Moses is considered the father of Judaism because he freed the Jews from slavery. Jews believe in God but refer to God as Hashem in the Hebrew bible . In prayer his name is substituted with Adonia.

The Jewish Bible is known in Hebrew as the Tanakh, an acronym of the three sets of books which comprise it: the Pentateuch (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi'im) and the Writings (Ketuvim).

Jews prayed together in synagogues became a as this was a central feature of Judaism because Jews faced great persecution for their customs and beliefs.

Jewish migration from Israel also helped spread the ideas of JudaismThe teachings of Judaism have had a great impact on the world. The principle of monotheism influenced two other great religious traditions, Christianity and Islam. Judaism’s moral teachings and its idea of a weekly day of rest were also important influences.
