Dear Mountaineer Fans,

Thank you for being involved and taking the time to learn more about supporting West Virginia University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. We take great pride in the athletic achievements by our programs, but the power and potential of our graduates are and always will be our biggest source of pride.

As you read this brochure, please consider how impactful your gift can be and the benefits it provides to our State’s flagship institution. Every donation to the MAC, no matter the size, provides the necessary resources to educate and guide our Mountaineers. Each day, our student-athletes work diligently to achieve their goals of academic growth and athletic success. Let’s Go Mountaineers!

ABOUT THE MAC

The Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) is the fundraising arm for the West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, which pays 100% of the scholarships awarded to more than 500 student-athletes in 18 varsity sports from generous contributions made by 6,500+ MAC members.

MAC members provide essential support to the following areas that are vital to not only the continued operational health of the Athletic Department but also the enrichment of the student-athlete experience at West Virginia University:

Student-Athlete Scholarships
Academic Support
Training and Nutrition
Facility Enhancements
Travel Assistance
Recruiting
Equipment Upgrades
Cost of Attendance
Other Budget Relieving Expenses

Your individual and corporate contributions help Advance Scholarship and Build Champions.

Membership in the MAC is recognized by unrestricted annual fund gifts that are made from December 1, 2016 to November 30, 2017. You can contribute at any level, but a minimum gift of $100 is required to activate your annual membership and receive benefits.

Essential private support enables the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics to recruit and train elite student-athletes in first-class facilities, fund scholarships, and compete on a level playing field with peer institutions. Financial stability in athletics ultimately breeds success, and success breeds pride amongst WVU alumni and friends.

To receive full benefits for the upcoming season and be considered an active MAC member in 2017-18, renewing and new members have until April 28 to complete payment towards their annual giving level.

GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

2017 FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS AND PARKING

TICKETS

All 2017 members will have the opportunity to purchase football season tickets in priority seating sections throughout Milan Puskar Stadium. Priority season tickets require a minimum per-seat contribution to the MAC annual fund. See below.

The majority of sections at Milan Puskar Stadium have a per-seat gift requirement, which at a minimum, a new season ticket holder would be required to make in order to purchase season tickets in that section. However, making this per-seat gift does not guarantee that you will receive season tickets in designated sections. All season tickets are subject to availability. For example, the average gift, specifically in the Blue Zone, often times well exceeds the minimum per-seat gift requirement. The football season ticket renewal deadline is Friday, April 28, 2017.

OPTIONAL SEAT SELECTION PROCESS

All 2017 MAC annual fund members will receive an optional selection time to self-select new and/or upgrade your season ticket location(s). Current season ticket holders will be able to log in to an interactive website to potentially upgrade/relocate seat locations and/or purchase additional season tickets.

PARKING

The tailgating atmosphere in Morgantown is electric and is one of the best in the nation. The MAC is proud to offer priority parking options to MAC members on game day. The map and chart below and at right show priority parking limits for cars and RVs.

* Limit based on meeting per-seat gift requirement(s) // R/0 - Renewal Only // I/A - If Available

2017-18 MEN'S BASKETBALL SEASON TICKETS AND PARKING

TICKETS

MAC members have the opportunity to purcahse priority season tickets at the WVU Coliseum. To maintain equality after the 2013 Reseating Process, lower level seating in the WVU Coliseum has annual giving level requirements and priority ticket limits. There are no limits or giving level requirements for upper level season tickets.

As a benefit of being a season ticket member, we provide you with a priority renewal period which protects your seats from being selected by another account holder. The priority renewal deadline for all current men’s basketball season ticket holders is Friday, July 28, 2017. To ensure that you retain your seats for the 2017-18 season, you must renew by the priority deadline. Seats not renewed by the deadline may be available for purchase by other MAC members and then the general public.

OPTIONAL SEAT SELECTION PROCESS

All 2017-18 men’s basketball season ticket holders will receive an optional selection time to self-select new and/or upgrade season ticket locations. MAC members interested in becoming a men’s basketball season ticket holder may request a selection time. Curent and new season ticket holders will be able to log in to an interactive website to potentially upgrade/relocate seat locations and/or purchase additional tickets.

PARKING

MAC members at the Gold annual giving level ($800) and above qualify for men’s basketball priority parking opportunities. Director level annual donors and above receive one (1) complimentary parking pass. Champion level annual donors and above with five (5) or more season tickets have the option to purchase additional parking passes. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I become a member of the Mountaineer Athletic Club?

Become a member of the MAC by donating a minimum of $100 to the annual fund. There are also a variety of other ways to join/support the MAC and WVU Athletics. Please see Giving Opportunities.

Why should I donate to the Mountaineer Athletic Club?

Private support is essential to the success of WVU’s Intercollegiate athletic program. The WVU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics receives no financial assistance from the state of West Virginia. It is a self-funded entity, solely dependent upon self-generated revenues to operate and provide student-athlete scholarships. Your support helps talented young people receive a quality education from WVU while ensuring that WVU’s tradition of athletic excellence continues to grow.

What benefits do I receive for becoming a member of the MAC?

MAC members receive a variety of membership benefits which include, but are not limited to, invitations to MAC functions and priority seating options for football, men’s basketball, and baseball. Please see the Member Benefits and Priority Points.

Is my donation tax deductible?

If your contribution includes an option to purchase season tickets, 80% of your donation is tax-deductible. For 100% tax deductibility of your annual gift, you must decline your rights to receive benefits at the time you make your gift. Any gifts not associated with benefits are 100% tax-deductible. Only the individual or company making the gift is eligible to receive the tax deduction. MAC donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes from the WVU Foundation.

What should I do to ensure my company’s matching gift program is applied to my donation?

Please visit WVUMAC.com to use the WVU Foundation’s Matching Gift Search Engine to seee if your employer sponsors a matching gift. Matching gifts must be received by June 30 in order to be applied toward priority seating and parking gift requirements.

What is the Priority Points Program, and what is the best way to increase my priority point standing?

The Priority Points Program is designed to reward longevity and generosity of support toward West Virginia University, its Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, and the MAC. It is used to determine seating at away games, bowl games, post-season tournaments, new season ticket requests, and parking. Increasing your annual giving level and purchasing season tickets are great ways to increase your Priority Points. Please visit the Priority Points page under the Annual Giving tab at WVUMAC.com to learn more about your priority points and how to calculate them.

Can I purchase individual home, away, and neutral game tickets?

All MAC donors are eligible to purchase individual game tickets. The quantity and/or location of tickets you can purchase is based on availability, annual giving level, and Priority Points within your giving level. The availability and location of the tickets for away games is determined by the opposing school or venue. Single, away, and neutral site game tickets are typically mailed 7 to 10 days prior to each game.

How do I change my contact information on my account?

Please note any changes on your order/request forms returned to the Mountaineer Ticket Office or Mountaineer Athletic Club. You may also update your contact information online by logging into your account at WVUGame.com or calling the Mountaineer Athletic Club at 800-433-2072.
