Today I shot with a number of gorgeous subjects but not just human ones, I had the pleasure of working with a beautiful red tail boa constrictor named Nagini thanks to Goody's Hypnotic Exotics! I honestly didn't think today would go so smoothly, I kind of expected this to be a challenge but this snake couldn't have been a better model. She isn't camera shy, that's for sure! It's funny to think she sees five camera lenses in her face, not just one and she still cooperated like a dream!
We had so much fun today we will probably be doing at least another session like this one! If you'd be interested in modeling with some exotic animals please message me! I'll be looking for new faces for a project similar to this one!
I'd also like to thank Adrienne & Luke of the Collective for taking part in this awesome photo session. If you haven't checked out their yoga studio yet, they offer a variety of classes and they also have an adorable little café with espresso drinks and juices!
Below is a small gallery of some of my favorite shots from our session today. I'm in awe of her still!
If you haven't already heard, I'm going to be a featured artist in the Spring 2017 Benton Harbor Art Hop! My full collection will be up for sale at the Sweet Bar by Mason Jar (138 Water St.)
I'm also planning to have some sort of contest so anyone that attends can have the chance to win a free portrait session!
If you're not familiar with the Art Hop, the best way to understand what it's all about is to just go and check it out for yourself but I can try to describe it in a nutshell. Basically, a handful of the town's businesses including the Livery, the Collective, the Outcenter, Water St Glassworks, 3 Pillars Record Store and the Citadel come together to throw a community wide party. Many of the stops along the Art Hop showcase exhibits such as paintings or sculptures. The Glassworks gives you the opportunity to create your own piece of art with a sign up only glassblowing lesson and I believe the Livery has specials running just for the occasion! They do this once every season and each stop always has a surprise in store for everyone that attends.
It's only from 6-9pm so even if you already have St Patty's Day plans you can just swing by on your way to the evenings festivities! This community has so much to offer and it's full of just the best kind of people. There is no better way to celebrate the coming of Spring!
See you there :)
Hey guys! There was a couple things I wanted to share with everyone and I started to think I maybe I'm not reaching some people that might not use Facebook. Some of my clients see my new work on my website or Instagram and I wanted to make sure there was a place that my viewers could stay updated on any news or specials that may be happening.
So it may not be crucial information but yesterday was my birthday! :D
I walked my dogs two times, went to my favorite restaurant, spent some time with the best people and couldn't have had a better 23rd birthday. My boyfriend got me flowers and a gift certificate to get a new tattoo- which I was very surprised and so excited about! Oh, and I chopped all of my hair off! It's going to take a lot of getting used to.
Here's some of the pictures I took during my bday lunch at Journeyman Distillery. If you haven't checked this place out, drop what you're doing and go! The building alone is worth the trip but to make it even better they have killer food! I recommend the soft pretzel :)
