Wrapping up the dance team season just last month, tryouts were held this week for the 2018-2019 school year. In the two days of clinic, Tuesday and Wednesday, the girls learned technique, kicks, and choreography. Lots of hard work and sweat went into each day of clinic.
The girls trying out are committing to putting a lot of time and energy into dance next year. Dance team performs at every home varsity volleyball and basketball game. They practice two times a week with an occasional 6:15 practice on Friday mornings.
Sunday, the official tryout day, was full of high spirits and nerves. Each girl in white and black chose a random letter indicating their spot in the tryout order. Pep talks and nervous laughter filled the air. Each girl put on a smiling face as they walked out in front of the judges table to perform what they learned in clinic.
Within the next week, a new dance team will be announced. Starting a year full of new friendships and half time entertainment!
