The Driscoll's Easter Adventure 2016

Hi Doreen, thanks so much for contacting me about your Easter getaway. This itinerary was designed with exploration and relaxation in mind. From the famed and story laden streets of New Orleans to a unique stop on a private island in Belize, this ten day vacation will captivate your imagination and be an excellent opportunity to create some fun-filled memories. Let's go, shall we? First stop, The Big Easy.

New Orleans April 12 - 16

New Orleans is a unique blend of cultures, and it is all about beauty and experiencing the divine through mortal senses. There’s joy here, from great food to the best concert of your life, and serenity, found in the shade between live oaks or while watching fireflies on Bayou St John. Whichever way of being you choose for the day, New Orleans indulges you. It will delight all of your senses - it is, after all, the hometown of jazz, world renowned streets and architecture, and famously delicious epicurean delights, from beignets to alligator sausage. History and culture is alive and thrumming through the streets of this city.

French Quarter

Fear not, shopping is also a great reason to visit The Big Easy. Uptown is the area where American settlers decided to prove to the original French inhabitants that they could be as tasteful and wealthy as any old-world aristocrat. Magazine St is one of the coolest strips of restaurants and shopping outlets in town. Eventually the ‘U’ curves north again along the river’s bend into Riverbend, popular with the university crowd. You will find classic to trendy everywhere - your choice.

HOTEL MONTELONE

Hotel Montelone in the French Quarter

It’s been said that the French Quarter begins in the lobby of Hotel Monteleone. This venerable New Orleans hotel sits majestically at the foot of Royal Street and offers guests the best point of departure for all things New Orleans. Step outside this historic French Quarter hotel to discover shop after shop of fabulous European antiques, estate jewelry, oriental rugs, and art and antiquities from around the world. Quaint New Orleans restaurants and specialty shops line the French Quarter streets. Enjoy New Orleans tourist attractions just steps from your hotel, including Jackson Square, Bourbon Street, the French Market, and the Riverwalk, where you can watch the steamboats along the Mississippi River.

The Carousel - featuring live entertainment Wednesdays through Sundays

The famous Carousel Bar & Lounge in Hotel Monteleone is a long-time favorite New Orleans hotspot. The classic New Orleans hotel bar is the city’s only revolving bar. For decades, it has lured guests in to take a spin on the 25-seat, bright, circus-clad Merry-Go-Round. Recently, Vogue Living named our bar one of the Top 20 Bars in the World, due in equal parts to our whimsical revolving carousel and comprehensive list of cocktails. All just off the lobby in your hotel! Added to this is The Criollo, Montelone's Creole restaurant, serving breakfast through dinner.

Montelone Double Room

Spend four nights enjoying New Orleans, exploring everything from the doorstep of your historic hotel in the French Quarter. Then depart for your 7 night cruise!

One of your stops will be at the brand new Harvest Caye, in Southern Belize. Immerse yourself in natural beauty and culture on a 75-acre oasis featuring an expansive pool with a swim-up bar, salt-water lagoon for water sports, exclusive 7-acre beach and exciting shore excursions ranging from zip lining across the island to snorkelling the world's second largest barrier reef. There are cabanas to rent if you'd like to just stay at the pools, or so many adventures at your fingertips!

Another stop will be in beautiful and unspoiled Roatan, a peaceful, eco-tourist's dream, just 30 miles off the coast of Honduras.
