Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech, Marqués de Dalí de Púbol,
Born on May 11th, 1904. Died January 23rd, 1989. One of his quotes was, "Have no fear of perfection - you'll never reach it." Could you guess who this artist is? Probably not, but it's Salvador Dali. Dali was a skilled draftsman, best known for the striking and bizarre images in his surrealist work. His painterly skills are often attributed to the influence of Renaissance masters. His best-known work, The Persistence of Memory, was completed in August 1931.
My artwork is space, with planets. Two planets seem to be dripping, and the rest are normal. My title of the work is "Drip Drop". The most noticeable about my artwork is 3/5 planets aren't dripping like the 2/5.
I thought about space and making planets seem as if they were dripping or looking like a inflated balloon. I used a round container for the planets. Color pencils, and paint, plus a regular pencil.
Based on The Persistence of Memory. I was inspired to make something similar to that matter. Eventually these planets will disappear in some way years, and years from now. So making it drip, or look like an inflated balloon, shows the planet "leaving".
I didn't have a specific goal, but I didn't think I reached my goal for this project. I feel I could've done better, and took more time into the work. I know I could've if I had more time, since I'm so busy lately.
My overall thoughts are, this piece was not what I originally imagined. I could've used different materials, to make it look more real, than cartoon-ish. This piece will influence me to do a better job for my next project, and possibly have myself focus more.
