Rainbows is a program dedicated to support students as they navigate grief and healing from loss including death, divorce, deployment or other trauma. Groups will be held virtually on Wednesdays so that both virtual and hybrid students may participate. Please contact your child's counselor if you would like more information.
Lessons on college and career development will be taught to students in September and October. Students will be completing interest inventories and/or aptitude tests which will be used to match them with possible career options. Naviance and YouScience are the platforms used to complete the assessments and build an on-line career portfolio.
Our 8th grade virtual Career Fair will be on Wednesday, November 18th. Please contact Wendy Ricker at email@example.com if you would like to participate or if you know of someone that may be able to participate. Presenters can sign up for 30-minute sessions based on their availability.
Please click this Counselor Contact Information LINK for additional information, our contact information, and helpful resources. You can also see additional resources on the county website (County Additional Resources HERE) that specifically address COVID as well as crisis situations.
New Nine weeks begins Oct 16
Next week marks the last week of the first quarter. The new nine weeks begins on Friday, 10/16, with students receiving new connections classes and some minor adjustments to academic classes to balance class sizes and to address changes in student needs for support and/or enrichment. Due to the need to offer courses to both virtual and brick/mortar students, we are not currently taking requests for connections courses with the exception of students joining or leaving fine arts courses such as band, chorus, orchestra and production/drama. Any fine arts requests should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by Monday, October 12.
7th grade boys and girls basketball tryouts will be held Monday, Oct. 19 - Wednesday, Oct. 21. (Girls will tryout from 3:15 p.m. - 4:45 pm and boys from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.). Students interested in trying out are required to have passed all academic subjects the semester preceding participation. In addition, FCBOE required athletic paperwork (GHSA Sports Physical, Parental Consent & Insurance Verification, Code of Conduct Contract, Concussion and Severe Cardiac Arrest form) should be placed in the Athletic Box located in the front office by Friday, Oct. 14 or emailed to Cindy Crosby at email@example.com.
Social Distancing-Face Masks-Attendance
In an effort to keep crowds to a minimum and maintain social distancing it is recommended that only parents/adult family members of the athletes participating attend sporting events. Students will only be allowed to attend games under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian at all times during the event.
Masks/face coverings will be required for all indoor FCBOE athletic events. Mask/face coverings will be strongly recommended for outdoor FCBOE athletic events. Thank you for your cooperation in the interest of safety.

(It literally takes less than 1 minutes)
Our current free and reduced meal percentages are on a decline! These percentages drive the amount of federal dollars sent to our school for Title I Support. Help us keep our funding by completing the meal benefit application before October 30, 2020.
Check out my virtual office! It's a one stop shop to everything you need in order to stay connected! Click on the calendar to view the school calendar, and click the computer to be redirected to tech support. The whiteboard links take you directly to what you are looking for!
Are you familiar with House Bill 1166? House Bill 1166 is a homestead exemption from Fayette County School district ad valorem taxes. Still confused? I was too! So, I did a little digging and learned that if the Bill passes, school programs such as Community for Creativity in Middle Schools and Career Pathways in High School could be negatively affected.
For detailed information on the bill, please click on the link below.
