Just a Note...

perseverance promotes promise

Dear Bronco Family,

It is my hope that our community is well in mind, spirit and health. Wherever you are and no matter the circumstance please know that you are not alone. I have been wrestling with negativity and have resigned not to succumb to it and to focus on the positive. It is too easy to focus on what is not right in our lives. We all deserve better but it takes the right mindset to move past the challenges that feel insurmountable. Remember, your perception is your reality and only you have the power to shift your perspective.

Thank you to all families that were able to attend the Stakeholders Meeting this past Tuesday. I know that there may have been those who would have liked to attend but could not. No worries! I got you! The recording of the meeting will be available on the school website for your review at your leisure. I was joined by our Content Chairs to share what is currently in place and what adjustments we have made to support students this year. I know it may not be as riveting as (insert something you binge watch) but it's worth your time. Spoiler Alert! Omari Hardwick is playing as me in the video. If it still looks like me...squint.

Also note that all teachers have posted a video on Schoology for your review. This video is specific to your child’s current courses and speaks to the specifics of the standards that have been covered thus far as well as ways for your child to be successful in the course. It was done to formally meet the teacher and provide similar content to what would occur during a Curriculum Night. Please take a moment to review.

7th and 8th Grade Re-entry (Brick and Mortar Only)

As directed by the Superintendent students who have been in brick and mortar for two days a week will start attending 4 days a week. Our 6th graders started the phase on the 28th. Should the data trend positively at BMMS, it is expected that 7th graders will begin 4 days a week on October 12th and the 8th graders will attend on the 19th of October. Please remember that we are still wearing masks in the building since it will not be possible to social distance with the volume of students increasing.

Stay well!

New Nine weeks begins Oct 16

Report Cards Information

Next week marks the last week of the first quarter. The new nine weeks begins on Friday, 10/16, with students receiving new connections classes and some minor adjustments to academic classes to balance class sizes and to address changes in student needs for support and/or enrichment. Due to the need to offer courses to both virtual and brick/mortar students, we are not currently taking requests for connections courses with the exception of students joining or leaving fine arts courses such as band, chorus, orchestra and production/drama. Any fine arts requests should be emailed to gumerson.aimee@mail.fcboe.org by Monday, October 12.

Social Distancing-Face Masks-Attendance

In an effort to keep crowds to a minimum and maintain social distancing it is recommended that only parents/adult family members of the athletes participating attend sporting events. Students will only be allowed to attend games under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian at all times during the event.

Masks/face coverings will be required for all indoor FCBOE athletic events. Mask/face coverings will be strongly recommended for outdoor FCBOE athletic events. Thank you for your cooperation in the interest of safety.

Vote for our Future

Are you familiar with House Bill 1166? House Bill 1166 is a homestead exemption from Fayette County School district ad valorem taxes. Still confused? I was too! So, I did a little digging and learned that if the Bill passes, school programs such as Community for Creativity in Middle Schools and Career Pathways in High School could be negatively affected.

For detailed information on the bill, please click on the link below.

Visit our Parent & Family Resource Site for more information about upcoming events, available resources, and engagement opportunities!
