Term 2b, week 4

This week, we continued work on our weaving project.

Some of us are nearly done and ready to tie it off and remove it from the board.

Manha joined in from home and made her own weaving board so she could weave with us. She found some cardboard and created her board. Then, she found some wool and started weaving.

Emily was back for dance this week. She worked with half the class to continue to perfect their dance moves and routine.

Our timing with each other was fab. We were in sync- most of the time!

In Science, with Mrs King, we had to design a craft that could land safely on Mars.

We used marshmallows to represent the astronauts and we had to keep them safe.

We had to consider the use of shock absorbers on our craft designs so that the astronauts would be protected on landing.

Zilan and Najla look very proud of themselves!

We tried our designs out on a small scale and then...

....we tried them out on a larger scale, landing from a greater height!

This week, it was Red Nose Day. We came to school in non-uniform and made donations to Comic Relief.

Zilan and Najla were in a Golden Book this week for their great effort and perseverance with their weaving. They really concentrated and as a result, produced some great work. Well done!

For an amazing change, showing great enthusiasm and making some great progress, Erfan was Year 5’s Star of the Week.

Who will it be next week?
