The Tribunes are ready to go...
ROCHESTER, NY (April 20, 2017): The Monroe CC (8-4) men’s lacrosse team won their regular season finale against Hudson Valley CC, 8 to 7.
Starters for each team are ready to go.
The Tribunes were led by sophomore Jake Moss (Wayne), who scored two goals and three assists. Freshmen Brandon Barnhart (Greece Arcadia) and Austin Jobson (Victor) each scored two goals. Sophomore Hudson Weil (Williamsville East) and Freshman Patrick Brewer (Haverling) scored one goal a piece. Freshman Nick Kallio (Livonia) and Sophomore Conner Nicholson (Wayne) each had one assist. Goalie Mark Campbell (Waterloo) had 16 saves in goal for the Tribunes.
Jake Moss led the Tribunes with 2 goals and 3 assists on Saturday afternoon.
Monroe CC were able to get on the scoreboard, two minutes into the game with a goal from Moss. A minute later, the Tribunes were up 2-0 with a goal from Barnhart. The Vikings were able to get on the board, 6 minutes later to make the score, 2-1 at the end of the first.
Austin Jobson had two goals on the day for Monroe CC.
The Tribunes were able to get scores from Jobson (assist from Kallio) and Brewer (assist from Moss). Goalie Mark Campbell and the Tribunes defense were able to keep Hudson Valley off the scoreboard in the second quarter. At halftime, the Tribunes led 4 to 1.
The Vikings scored first in the third quarter, cutting the Tribunes led to one goal. Monroe was able to answer with a goal from Weil (feed from Moss). The Tribunes got another goal four minutes later from Barnhart for his second of the day (assisted by Nicholson). Two minutes later, the Tribunes capitalized on a man-up Jobson goal (feed from Moss) At the end of the third quarter, the Tribunes led 7 to 2.
#1 Brandon Barnhart had two goals for the Tribunes against the Vikings.
The Vikings were able to score two goals within the first five minutes of the final quarter, making the score 7 to 4. Jake Moss scored his second of the game, two minutes after the Vikings goal to bring the led to four goals for the Tribunes. Hudson Valley was able to score three goals after the Tribunes goal to make the game, 8 to 7.

The Tribunes defense was able to keep the Vikings off the scoreboard for the final 5:33 of the game. Mark Campbell made six saves in the 4th, finishing with 16 saves on the day.

Monroe CC will be the #3 seed in the Region 3 tournament and will host, #6 Finger Lakes CC on Wednesday, April 26th at 4pm. Winner moves on to the semi-finals which will be played at host Onondaga CC on Saturday, April 29th.
