Greüzi! and welcome to some moments and impressions from the open door and art exhibition day at Schreinerei Grütter in Laupen, ZH. The "Ausstellung" included exhibitions by local painters, sculptors, jewellers, wine producers and other hand craft. Demonstrations by chainsaw artist Thomas Jud and barrel making by Kueferei Suppiger entertained and educated the nearly 400 people who visited throughout the day. Demonstrations by the carpenters of Schreinerei Grütter showcased thier latest in-house technology including the new twenty four tonne vacuum former.

Outside the capentry shop two practical displays by skilled local craftsmen , chainsaw artist Thomas Jud and local Coopers , Kueferei Suppiger one of only two left in Switzerland.

Kueferei Suppiger gave a wonderful demonstration of the coopers art, a trade so vital in the past now with only a handful left, a privilege to see live.

Barrel being "toasted" to soften staves to allow it to be winched into shape. This along with moistening the outside also help with sealing the barrel.
