Kalahari Jessica Khoury

It is in the kalahari savanna. It is like a safari for camping and sightseeing.

The specific location is the camp. It is where they are staying until they hear about Sarah's dad. The camp is where the group sleeps and where they eat and do some of their research.

It takes place in the 20th century because they all have smartphones. They are using it for their entertainment when they are eating. They are also talking about a resort and not a camp.

It is the kalahari dessert so it is hot everyday. There is also no rain unless there is a bad storm in the kalahari.

It is the kalahari dessert so it is hot everyday. There is also no rain unless there is a bad storm in the kalahari.

The population is empty because it is just the camp and the poachers that are hunting the animals. If somebody was to get hurt it would be a 2 hour flight to the hospital or some population.

Some objects are the smartphone, radio, jeep. This helps because some of the objects weren't made in the early 1900s or early.

The mood of the book is dark in places when the go back to the scene of when Sarah's mom had died. There is also happy thoughts when joey is petting a porcupine and not afraid of it.

It affects because it could determine how the story's mood will play out and what will happen. It also depends on how the setting is and if the protagonist is troubled or had a good life. Sarah the protagonist is troubled because Sarah's mother had died and now she doesn't know where her dad and Theo and she doesn't want to lose them too. The setting contributes to the story when Sarah sees her mother face first into the tree and she is horrified by the sight and can't forget about the sight.
