No place for hate A Day of Cultural Learning for PUSD Students and Staff

Poway Unified middle and high school students and staff attended the No Place for Hate® conference for San Diego County K-12 schools. No Place for Hate schools commit to improving school climate by incorporating the Anti-Defamation League's anti-bias and anti-bullying resources. Attendees listened to keynote speakers, attended workshops, and came away with tools to create campuses where all students have a place to belong.

"It takes empathy, courage, learning, trust, respect, and listening to create campuses where there’s no place for hate. It starts with our student leaders and spreads to our schools and communities. I'm proud and excited to embark on this journey together. All of our students need to feel safe in order to thrive and learn at their fullest potential," -Dr. Kim-Phelps, Superintendent

Attendees signed the Resolution of Respect, promising to gain understanding of differences, speak out against prejudice and discrimination, and support those who are targets of hate.
