Congress 2015 Canberra - Generations meeting across time
Genies gathered
Thursday evening, March 26th 2015 at the Australian War Memorial - drinks, friendships renewed and new friends to meet. The chill in the Canberra air was dispelled by the warmth of the welcome.
Friday to Monday - We met, mixed, listened, learned, watched, shared, questioned and read. So many sessions to choose from, so many outstanding speakers, the conference app provided a quick reference to times, venues, speakers and content.
Presenters paved the way to new discoveries
Documents, slides, websites, blogs, explanations, books and knowledge shared and noted.
Old favourites presented in new ways, new resources added to our toolboxes too.
Exhibitors shared their wares
Boxes, folders, books, software, expertise, posters, pencils and pads. Hours of dedicated service and advice provided to attendees while we munched our way through lunches, morning and afternoon teas.
Participants shared blog posts, tweets and exchanged cards, ideas and tips.
Congress participants had the chance to use these national facilities after hours. The NLA staff assisted researchers between 5-8pm on Friday. Their efforts in assisting those who attended were greatly appreciated. I was delighted to be able to use all the resources I had pre-ordered and have the chance to use materials not available anywhere else.
