The Process

Karen Sperling paints commissioned portraits based on Shannon Marie's professional photographs. First, you consult with Shannon Marie about the type of painting you want for your home. We discuss styling of the portrait sitting, painting style, and how/where your painting will be displayed.

Style: Impressionist

After your photography session, Shannon Marie helps you to choose the photographic portrait that you would like to have turned into a painting, and you decide between the watercolor paper, oil-enhanced canvas or traditional oil painting.

Your heirloom painted portrait is available either on watercolor paper or oil-enhanced canvas. Traditionally painted oil portraits are also available.

Oil-enhanced canvas paintings begin at 3500 (USD) *size 16x24

Canvas paintings are stretched on a wooden frame.

Paintings on Watercolor Paper

Paintings on watercolor paper are bonded to masonite. Non-deckled edge watercolor paper is finished with an outer coating of gel brush strokes, to enhance the vibrance of your watercolor paper painting.

Custom framing is available and recommended for Watercolor Fine Art.
