Hello Parents, Caregivers and Students and welcome to the final newsletter for 2019.

As we continue to move into the new age of technology we will be moving away from the traditional newsletters and be pushing out information via schoolsteam, Facebook and email so that you get important information as it happens. Please make sure that you have these apps download and linked to the school sites.

Reflecting back on 2019 has once again highlighted a number of fantastic achievements of our students, their growth as capable, confident and courageous young people and the commitment of CSC staff to support our students. These qualities of CSC are the foundation of all that we do, making this such an ideal school to be involved with and were illustrated beautifully at our Third Year Awards and Formal.

Our Third Year students eagerly await the outcome of all their hard work and the results this year will be available from Students Online from 7.30am on Tuesday 17 December 2019. Students can expect to receive official documentation from this date onwards, in accordance with local, national and international postal schedules.

Any Third Year students should before the 17 December take a second to log in and check their personal details. If you can't log in or have forgotten your PIN, make sure you reset your PIN by visiting the SACE website through the link below.

A number of projects roll out across the College in 2020 with the Library upgrade and refurbishment set to begin anytime. This will create a new modern space for students to collaborate and study in a friendly work environment. Initial plans have also begun for our STEM building development and we are looking forward to getting that project off the ground ASAP so that students and staff can access new modern facilities with a focus on STEM across the curriculum.

Staff and students have certainly earned their rest after an incredibly busy and fulfilling year. Just before you embark on your holiday, please do check the information in this newsletter about dates and the requirements for the start of the 2020 school year.

I wish everyone in the CSC community a joyful Christmas and a relaxing and safe holiday and I look forward to seeing you again next year.

Regards

Glenn Dixon

In September, Stage 1 Visual Art and Design student Tiana Swift submitted a painting of her Great Grandfather (Pop) into the ABC Education - Senior Citizen Art Competition.

With great joy, her mother was contacted during the term break to be told that Tiana was one of the winners! This is great news for Tiana and her family, and someone to watch for further endeavours in the art world.

Research Project B Presentations at CDU

Big congratulations go to our Stage 2 Research Project B students who delivered presentations at CDU recently. The university presentations are an excellent opportunity to apply for advanced standing. CSC students joined students from other Darwin area schools in presenting their findings to CDU staff. The CDU staff members were highly impressed with level of research, depth of knowledge, and the professionalism of presentation delivery. Great work everyone!
