Divinity wedding inspiration

Colchester VT, Feb 22nd 2017 - Lis Oliveira - www.lisphotography.com

Last year I was in search of a location that would work with my vision of an elegant, timeless and luxurious wedding inspiration shoot I was planing for spring. A friend of mine had mentioned “The Mansion” to me few months earlier, and after checking out pictures on their website, I decided to go check it out in person. Once I stepped into that house, I knew that i had found what I was looking for. The history, the bold colors and decor of every room inspired me to capture the images that would bring us back in time. This shoot was recently featured on Southern New England Weddings magazine.

Venue

Built in 1807 for entrepreneur David H. Sumner, The Sumner Mansion Inn was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 and is recognized as one of the finest Federal Mansions in New England to survive from the early 19thcentury.

Vendors Team

The vendors team Jackie put together was exceptional. They did a fabulous job to complement my vision and inspiration of an elegant spring wedding. That table design was a dream with notes of fuchsia and green, copper/gold silverware and copper tone placemats. Every detail of every component went together like a dream. All that, of course, orchestrated by Jaclyn Watson Events.

Photographing Jacqueline O Kennedy’s dress was breath taking, literally. Everyone went quite when Alayna (our Miss Vermont 2015) entered the room wearing the dress. Although Jacqueline has never officially worn that dress, it was made for her. Just to think she tried it on during the design process, was enough to make my heart beat faster just by looking at it. It was not on plans to photograph the dress, but I thought we shouldn’t miss the opportunity. That was a bonus, not really part of the shoot. Enjoy! Lis Oliveira - lisphotography.com Colchester VT
