Dante Reed's genius Hour (KENPACHI Ramasama)

I have decided to to do my genius hour over Tai Chi. Tai Chi is a Chinese martial arts practiced for both its defensive training and its health benefits. This martial arts has been proven to help with rehab, diabetes, and even increase your overall lifespan. Tai Chi is important to me because it has a lot of health benefits along with the defensive capability. I also want to get healthier along with strong to start playing sports again. My goals in this project is to effectively block and counterattack an attack. To measure my goal Leroy and I shall compare our results at the end of the six week to determine who had the best results.

I have learned that tai chi takes a considerable amount of balance by just trying some of the moves alone. Were you place your body is a big component of Tai Chi. It also takes a tremendous amount of concentration on not only body placement but when to breath in or out. I have learned that my balance is not very good making my moves sloppy and unorganized. This might make me look bad on the surface but in the end I hoping to be a lot stronger than might appear. I have been using four different websites for my training research to widen my understanding of the culture and history of Tai Chi.I have learned that tai chi takes a considerable amount of balance by just trying some of the moves alone. I have learned that in training to do tai chi you are training your body to be calm in a tense situation. In doing so you a freeing you body to move freely with no restrictions due to fear or stress. I have learned that the training for tai chi directly effects and corresponds with you real world fighting. It's a lot like the scene from karate kid where is sensei instructs him to do chores for him to improve and refine his skills. Though her thought he was only doing his sensei's unwanted chores he later found out it greatly improved his hand to hand combat along with his inference. I used youtube this week to find tutorials and lessons over my topic that I could learn and use. From here I plan on continuing to train daily and learn from Leroy on the subject to improve my end result.
