GHA Students Attend National College Fair in Charlotte

For the third year in a row, students from Greensboro Housing Authority (GHA) traveled to Charlotte, NC on March 17, 2019 to attend a national college fair, sponsored by the National Association for College Admission Counseling. The students who participated, ranged in ages from sixth through twelfth grades and represented the GHA communities of Ray Warren Homes, Woodland Village, Hampton Homes, and Smith Homes. The event, held at The Park Expo and Conference Center, featured admission representatives from over 200 colleges and universities from across the country and world.

Students could ask pertinent questions to school representatives about academic programs and other student opportunities like study abroad programs or extracurricular activities. Attending this college fair was a great way for the students to either begin or continue the college exploration process. Additionally, they learned about the expectations for admission standards in order to be prepared for the application and acceptance process. On the way back home to Greensboro, the group stopped for lunch where they discussed and dreamed about their future educations, careers, and life goals.
