Apollo 9 Lucie rauschnabel

The purpose of this mission was an earth-orbital engineering of the first crewed lunar module.

It took off on March 3, 1969 and returned 10 days later.

It was a three person crew, consisting of Commander James Mcdivitt, Command Module pilot David Scott, and Lunar Module Pilot Rusty Schweikart.

This is a picture of the patch each crew memeber wore.

This mission was not as famous as the other Apollo missions but it was a success by giving scientists much valuable information about safely reaching the moon.
