2020 Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships Preparing the next generation of outstanding African leaders

The Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships is a selective programme designed to mentor future African leaders.

Through this annual fellowship programme, we seek to identify and prepare future African leaders to contribute their skills and learnings to a better Africa.

We hope to encourage outstanding individual emerging leaders from Africa to join the 2020 cohort of #MIFFellows and be part of the Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships programme.

KEY MESSAGES

The Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships is a selective programme designed to identify and prepare the next generation of outstanding African leaders by providing them with mentoring opportunities in key multilateral institutions.

The selected candidates will benefit from the direct mentorship of the current heads of the African Development Bank, the International Trade Centre and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.

Each Fellow will be hosted by the executive office of the chosen organisation for a 12-month fellowship supporting senior management with a stipend of $100,000.

The Fellowships are open to African mid-career professionals with relevant work experience and a Master’s degree.

Eligibility criteria include:

  1. national of an African country;
  2. 7-10 years of relevant work experience;
  3. Master’s degree;
  4. under the age of 40, or 45 for women with children;
