Today our prayer practice is to practice deliberate silence.
Freedom fighters are prone to the risks of self-obsession, meaning the false belief that the saving of the world is up to them. Today, take deliberate time to sit in silence and relinquish control. It may be best to do this in a public place (I like doing this in the Mall). Just simply listen and let God talk to you. Let God heal the world. Let God heal you.
- If this is new, try it for 5 minutes.
- If you’ve done this before, perhaps you’re ready for a longer time.
- If you live alone and deal with being alone a lot, I strongly recommend going some place public: Malls, libraries, parks, coffee shops, etc. are all great places to practice silence.
- If you live in a bustling household and getting alone is not possible, try silence in the midst of the chaos. Pray for the loudest one on the room. If you're like me, pray for sanity amidst the messiness of children.
