Due to lack of parking at LES, grandparents should park at the Methodist Church parking lot and we will have a shuttle service to the school. We look forward to spending this special time with our grandparents!
The LES Parent Group met on Tuesday, October 22nd to discuss ways to be involved with the school. One component that was discussed was our school playground and the need for an upgrade. The Parent Group discussed a variety of ways to help fundraise for this.
Our first fundraiser to help raise money for our playground will be a Parent Night Out. This event will take place on Friday, November 22nd. It is open to any student who attends PreK-4th grade at Loogootee Elementary. See the attached flyer for more information.

Open House and Chili Supper
Thanks to all of you, our annual chili supper and book fair was quite a success! We enjoy seeing family and friends and community members coming together! We served over 400 people this year! We hope you enjoyed seeing the new renovations.
Red Ribbon Week
During the week of October, LES celebrated Red Ribbon Week. We kicked off the week during our Monday Meeting by having senior volleyball players, Cassidy Esch and Emily Wade helping reward students for their hard work. During this week, students participated in dress up days with special sayings for each day. Mrs. Shake, Youth First Social Worker, also presented lessons to each class about making good choices and taking care of yourself. We ended the week with our annual Book Character Day. Students dressed up as their favorite book character and paraded around the school for everyone to see!
A Peek into Mrs. Gibson's Room
This year, Mrs. Gibson's class have decided to add a little fun to Friday afternoons. Over the course of the year, Mrs. Gibson's class has had parent volunteers visiting the class to complete STEM activities with the students. These volunteers planned and provided STEM activities to complete with the class. They made a catapult to launch pumpkins and a carrier for a skeleton to travel down a zip line.
We enjoy having volunteers helping and being involved in the classroom!
