To be, or not to be...

Dear OFS Community,

The English department kicked off the week by shining a light on the life and work of William Shakespeare – I have been amazed at the interest that this has sparked with conversations at lunchtime between pupils demonstrating a real and genuine knowledge and love of some of his plays, speeches and poems…

Be not afraid of greatness. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon 'em.

SHAKESPEARE — TWELFTH NIGHT

All the world's a stage, / And all the men and women merely players

SHAKESPEARE - AS YOU LIKE IT

Friendship is constant in all other things / Save in the office and affairs of love

SHAKESPEARE — MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING

I count myself in nothing else so happy / As in a soul remembering my good friends

SHAKESPEARE — RICHARD II

Reception Shoe Factory

Reception have returned to the best project ever – shoe making! However, the magical part is that they’re learning from elves who appear to be secretly living in their classrooms – they’ve been caught on our CCTV cameras!!! Year 8 pupils have also been extremely helpful, offering workshops to help construct the shoes…

Games

It was fantastic to get out onto the pitches for some competitive House Matches – I suspect that there were some tired bodies this week and I hope sleep was deep and restful!

Headmaster's Commendation

Well done Rhys for being awarded over 100 House Points this term...

My favourite was from Mrs Loubon!
What a fantastic week, the sun has shone and each day has brought us into Spring with the promise of Summer! In Pre Prep Assembly this morning, I talked about how Mr Davies recommends rolling up your sleeves, facing the sun and letting rays of UV warm our bodies, minds and souls…even just for 5 minutes each day. Later that morning, this is what I saw in the meadow…!
Have a lovely weekend and I hope that everyone feels the warmth of hope as well as a little UV!
